Come work with us

HTML/CSS/jQuery Developer (Rails backend) – with a knack for UI/Design.

Ideally, you:

  • Do good, clean design work.
  • Work fast and listen well.
  • Have good cross-browser HTML/CSS/jQuery skills.
  • Are familiar enough with (or willing to learn on your own time) Rails to work with our ERB templates.
  • Love tweaking UIs, looking at stats and running a/b tests.

You’ll be writing  front-end code,  doing some design, and a fair ammt of  testing for our city and festival products.  You can see some examples of these in action at: Do512, Do312, Do713, Jazz Fest, Lollapalooza, ACL, and many more.

We’ll start at 10-20 hours/week of contract work over the next month or so to make sure we love one another.  If all goes well, we’ll make it a full-time gig, and you can work from our office (S. Lamar) or from home – wherever you’re the most productive.

Send some information about yourself to – scott [at] dostuffmedia dot com -  if this sounds like you, or if you have any questions.

Content Manager + Support

We’re currently running 5 metros and 20 festivals and plan to double that by the end of the year, which makes for a lot of content that needs wrangling.

You would be doing all sorts of things, but to give you an idea:

  • Researching venues in new metros
  • Identifying content sources for events in new metros
  • Identifying Tastemakers and other important media sources in new metros
  • Supporting existing and new partners on using the DoStuff Admin
  • Importing Bands and Schedule Grids for upcoming festivals
  • A whole lot more.

You’ll need to:

  • Have great attention to detail
  • Be able to focus
  • Be a self-starter.
  • Love music/nightlife/fun
  • Be pretty analytical and have a secret love for spreadsheets and data wrangling

More than likely you’d need to work here at our South Austin Office, but times are flexible and if you’re crazy good and focused you might just could work from elsewhere.

Pay is around $10/hr. You’re not going to get rich with this particular job, but it’s a great opportunity to learn and grow with us as we grow.  The General Manager of Do512 started off in a very similar role.
