Hello,
Thank you for joining us for this October update. It has been some time since last we yapped. We’re counting on you having a healthy appetite, because we have a feast for the senses prepared for you. In brief: a new hire from a little city we like to call Chicago, two instances of public speaking without incident, three events that exceeded inflated expectations, and a holiday ad discount that will change your life (NOT GUARANTEED).
In addition to these metaphorically tasty items, we also have that one classic dish that every hungry American craves in this upcoming season of thanksgiving: Tofurkey. Straight out of the oven. Piping hot. Grab a plate! Seriously, grab a plate of Tofurkey. It’s just as good as regular turkey. You won’t even be able to tell the difference. What do you mean you don’t want it? It literally tastes just like turkey. No, we don’t have regular turkey, just Tofurkey. …Fine, don’t grab a plate.
Read on an empty stomach if that’s what you really want.
NEW GUY ALERT: Fei Tang

Ladies and germs, put your hands together for Fei Tang, who brings a rarefied air of creativity, strategy, and community leadership to his new role at Do312. Deeply rooted in Chicago’s music, arts, and culture scene, he’s spent his career connecting entertainment, brand partnerships, and civic engagement in ways that make the city come alive.
Among other venues, Fei Tang previously managed The MID - a club that, despite its name, was very good. He ran operations that helped define Chicago’s nightlife and live-music culture. He’s collaborated with oodles of national brands, artists, and event partners to create experiences that connect people through music and storytelling.
Outside the venue world, Fei has served on the boards of the Art Institute of Chicago and the Shedd Aquarium, offering perspective at the intersection of creativity, culture, and community impact. A Sony Alpha Photographer and DJ/performer, he continues to capture Chicago’s energy from behind both the lens and the decks - bringing the same curiosity and passion for connection that define his work at Do312.
His favorite animal is the quokka.
On Speaking Terms with the Public

Kristin Owen went to Confluence Carolinas, stood before a crowd, and said words into a microphone. To be more specific, she was there to moderate a conversation about what it means to put fans and artists first and facilitate sustainable careers within the industry. This is good.
Meanwhile, Scott Cramer joined a panel called Agents vs. Assistants, which sounds adversarial but was mainly pleasant, constructive discourse punctuated by professional nodding. The event brought together top entertainment executives and emerging industry talent in Chicago for a night of honest conversation about building a career in entertainment. Again, this is good.
Hooky, Horror, and Hospitality

Torchy’s Inaugural Hooky Hour:
DoStuff helped Torchy’s host their inaugural Hooky Hour - four hours of tacos, temporary tattoos, concert ticket giveaways, and confessionals about why people skipped work. Our photo booth captured irrefutable evidence of their truancy, but we did not send the photos to their employers or even try to blackmail them.
Carrie's 70s Prom at Hermosa Beach Gym:
DoLA and MUBI turned the actual gym from Carrie into a 70s prom with pyrotechnics, a costume contest, and a “dirty pillow fight.” This Carrie Prom event happens yearly at Hermosa Beach, and typically sells around 150 tickets. We used our psychic powers (as well as a small amount of media and hype) to push that ticket number up to 500 and sell out the entire thing. Unlike the characters in the film, everyone had a very nice time and would recommend the experience.
Creative Class @ Wandawega Bureau of Tourism led by StitchGawd:
Do312 and Wandawega Bureau of Tourism gathered follks for a creative workshop with StitchGawd and a Gardenista bar. The fifteen official seats sold out, but the rest of the venue was quickly packed with locals who came to just, y’know, C-H-I-L-L. The event paired the brand with a cool local spot, boosted buzz for Gardenista, and got people familiar with their game.
