Hey, it’s Jess. 👋
Gather ‘round for some tragic news. I’ve been diagnosed with celiac. Which means… I’ve had to break up with bread. Truly, my most painful breakup yet.
The hardest part wasn’t even saying goodbye to baked goods; it was breaking the news to my Supper Club group chat. We meet once a month to try new restaurants. Sharing apps was basically our love language. Now I’m the girl googling “Is soy sauce gluten-free?” before every meal (it’s not).
But I’m trying to stay positive. Three weeks in and I’ve already unlocked my inner gluten-free GPS. And who knows, maybe this will resurrect my pandemic alter ego: the baking-blog version of me who filmed herself cooking daily, made everything from scratch, and convinced myself that making “brownies” out of black beans was cool.

The last time I had bread—this French toast from Sadelle’s. You’ll be missed.
THIS WEEK IN MUSIC NEWS & TOURS 🎤
My childhood self is screaming. Hilary Duff is making music again. When? She told Rolling Stone that we’ll be hearing something soon, “like in the blink of an eye”. I’ve been blinking ever since. People have told me my whole life I remind them of her. Once, during that “celebrity doppelgänger” phase on Facebook, I changed my profile picture to Hilary Duff and a guy from camp DM’d me saying how pretty I looked in my new pic. Ouch.

After their viral VMA moment where Katseye couldn’t name a Mariah Carey video, they pulled the ultimate full-circle move. Each member dressed as a different Mariah and executed it flawlessly. A true Halloween redemption arc.

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun (and Induct Cyndi Lauper). Chappell Roan will be inducting the icon herself into the Rock Hall. Perfect casting? I think so.
When I interned at Lionsgate, we were given the opportunity to choose one concert to attend. I chose Twenty One Pilots, obviously. Did I invite my crush to impress him? Yes. Did we have actual seats? No, but it was still one of the best shows I’ve ever seen. Been a major fan since. Which is why it doesn’t feel right not to help them out. Someone stole their very important USB drive at a recent LA convention, and fans are uniting to help return it to its rightful owner. (USB in question for those wondering).

In other coincidental theft news, RAYE had her car stolen but got it BACK! Most importantly, her songwriting book was inside. Imagine losing your entire creative brain. Phew. Crisis averted.

Recent Tour Announcements:
- Demi Lovato – She’s hitting the road and we’re not emotionally ready.
 - Lewis Capaldi – If crying in public was an Olympic sport….
 - 5 Seconds of Summer – Remember when this band ruled your Tumblr feed?
 - Miguel – “Sure Thing” live? Yes, please.
 - Florence + The Machine – The earth will move (again).

THIS WEEK IN RANDOM, BUT AWESOME, EVENTS ✨
- Farm Dinners Are Having a Moment
Last weekend I went to Edible Nashville’s farm dinner. It was a literal dream. They host farm dinners at local farms, creeks, and even museums! Turns out the “accountant-looking” guy I always see at the farmer’s market actually owns the farm they hosted this dinner at. Small world. Best thing on the menu? The Grilled cabbage. Adding it to the list of recipes I swear I’ll make one day. See more events.
 - The World’s Largest Corn Maze Exists
There are corn mazes. Then there's the world's largest corn maze…in Dixon, CA. Want to know the trick to never getting lost in a maze? Don’t spoil it for others but if YOU must know... but here it is.
DoTell: Where YOU tell us 💬
Last week we asked: “What’s your best sneaking in story?” 🎟️
And wow… y’all delivered. Here are some of my favorites (condensed for your reading pleasure):
- Nathan and his girlfriend pulled the ol’ “walk in like you belong” move during Mardi Gras at The Spotted Cat in New Orleans. Perfect timing of a security shift swap and a flawless execution.
 - Jessica and her sister from Massapequa, NY… let’s just say they used their assets to sweet-talk the bouncer into letting them onto the floor at a Dead show on Long Island. Of course it worked.
 - Dave from Pearland, TX, didn’t win tickets to a private Dawes show in Houston, but he wasn’t giving up that easy. Magically found the drummer around the venue, told him his sob story, and next thing he knew, his name was handwritten on the guest list. Persistence pays.
