DoLA is What To Do In Los Angeles. We’re a locally-powered team that exists to answer the question, "What am I going to do tonight?" for our users. Through our constantly updated show calendar, curated guides, daily emails, and social channels, DoLA is the premier event discovery platform for anyone who wants to get more out of Los Angeles.

DoLA is part of the DoStuff Network, which includes 20+ cities on the same mission across North America.

As the Gay DoLA Content Associate, your mission is to help curate compelling LGBTQ+ content for our website, email, and social media channels across Gay DoLA and DoLA. Your goal is to make Gay DoLA the best possible LGBTQ+ resource for answering the question; “What am I going to do tonight in Los Angeles?”.

Our Content Associates are organized, detail-oriented all-stars who are immersed in LA’s LGBTQ+ cultural landscape. You’ll support the voice of an established brand and create what Gay DoLA looks like across all channels through your effectiveness, wit, and knowledge of the LGBTQ+ scene.

This is a part-time, 8 hrs a week, remote or hybrid position, based in Los Angeles.

Your role:

  • Manage LGBTQ+ event listings in LA.

  • Curate listings weekly to ensure the front page of Gay DoLA is an accurate reflection of the best LGBTQ+ things to do in LA.

  • Scour the internet for LGBTQ+ events in LA to add.

  • Curate collections of events that are relevant as needed.

  • Execute giveaways & contests: Reach out to local partners in LA to set up and execute LGBTQ+ ticket giveaways using the DoStuff software platform.

  • Communicate with the voice & tone representative of the Gay DoLA brand.

  • Email Production: Use our Email Service Provider’s tools to build 1 email newsletter per week from content you have curated.

  • Editorial Production: Build LGBTQ+ editorial pages as needed in sync with current trends.

  • Social media: Curate weekly social media content for inclusion on the main DoLA channels.

You are:

  • Strongly interested or involved in LGBTQ+ culture (concerts, nightlife, drag shows, art, etc.)

  • A talented short-form writer with a defined voice.

  • Curious. You want to know why things are the way they are.

  • Detail-oriented. You can spot a typo before all of your friends.

  • Following the BEST LGBTQ+ people and brands on social media.

  • Going out regularly – to LGBTQ+ concerts, nightlife, drag shows, art events, restaurants, happy hours, and more.

  • In the flow of local LGBTQ+ news and culture.

  • Innovative.

  • Intrinsically motivated. You don’t need someone looking over your shoulder to be productive and efficient.

  • Punctual.

  • Regularly reading LGBTQ+ music and culture websites like Pitchfork, Them, GO, Out Magazine, Curve, Gay Letter, etc.

  • Subscribe to (and enjoy reading) national and local LGBTQ+ email newsletters.

Bonus points if you:

  • Already use DoLA

  • Have LGBTQ+ music and/or nightlife industry experience

  • Have digital marketing experience

  • Have a proven track record of increasing digital audiences

  • Know your way around Google Analytics, Asana, and/or Emarsys

  • Maintain badass social media accounts that we can check out
